Dorchester county to borrow money on the credit of the
county, for the purpose of repairing the bridge across
Cambridge Creek, in the town of Cambridge, in said county,
and to place a wider draw therein, and to give their bonds or
bills obligatory for the payment, and to levy a tax to redeem
said bonds or bills obligatory, be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments so as to read as
follows :

That the County Commissioners of Dorchester county be
and they are hereby authorized and empowered to contract for
the repairing of the bridge across Cambridge Creek, in the
town of Cambridge, in said county, and the placing of a
wider draw therein, so as to provide better facilities for naviga-
tion, as well as for the safety of the public in passing over said
bridge, and also to improve said bridge in such a manner as
said commissioners may deetn proper; and for the purpose of
paying for the said repairs and improvements to said bridge,
the said County Commissioners are hereby authorized to bor-

row on the credit of said county such sum or sums of money as
may be necessary, not exceeding in all the sum of ten thousand
dollars, and to give their bonds, notes or bills obligatory there-
for, in sums of not more than one thousand dollars each, to be
signed by the president of the board of said commissioners
and to be countersigned by the county treasurer of said
county, and have the corporate seal of said commissioners
affixed thereto, bearing interest not exceeding six per cent, per
annum, payable semi-annually on the first day of January and
of July, in each and every year, from the date thereof until
the same are paid.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and he
is hereby authorized and directed to draw his warrant upon
the Treasurer for the payment of three hundred dollars to
W. G. Purnell, late Secretary of the Senate, for the appendix
