FRANK BROWN, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

eighty six, and a tax of ten and one-half cents on each one
hundred dollars to aid in the support of the public schools, to
be distributed according to law among the several counties and
the city of Baltimore, making an aggregate of seventeen cents
and three-fourths of a cent on each one hundred dollars; and
the State tax commissioner shall levy the same State taxes on
the shares of capital stock of all banks, State and national, and
other incorporated institutions and companies of this State, the
shares of whose capital stock are liable by law to assessment
and taxation.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of acts
inconsistent with the provisions of this act be and the same are
hereby repealed.

Repeal.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 286.

AN ACT to amend the charter and extend the powers of the
Laurel Electric Light, Heat and Power Company of Prince
George's County, a corporation formed under article
twenty-three of the Code of Public General Laws of this
State, entitled "Corporations."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Maryland, That the Laurel Electric Light, Heat and Power
Company of Prince George's county, a corporation formed
under the provisions of article twenty-three of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, entitled "Corporations," in
addition to the powers possessed by it. under the laws of this
State, shall have the further powers hereinafter given.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Laurel Electric
Light, Heat and Power Company shall have power to contract
and furnish light, power and heat, and extend their wires so as
to furnish the same, to any point in the sixth election district
of Howard county, and the fourth election district of Anne
Arundel county; and said company shall have perpetual
succession.
