county, which are about thus described, to wit : Beginning at
the intersection of present limits of Baltimore city and the
north side of Fairmount avenue; thence easterly along the
north side of said Fairmount avenue to the east side of Ninth
street; thence southerly along the east side of Ninth street to
the water edge of the Patapsco river; thence westerly along
the water edge of the Patapsco river to the present limits of
Baltimore city; thence along the present limits of Baltimore
city in a northerly direction to the place of beginning; to be
collected as other county taxes are collected, and when col-
lected, to be used by the said County Commissioners exclu-
sively for the purpose of condemning, grading, curbing and
paving such streets in the said villages of Canton and High-
landtown as they, the said County Commissioners, may deem
most necessary.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said County Commis-
sioners shall, within a reasonable time after the passage of this
act and after the first levy hereunder is made, cause and pro-
cure a survey to be made of said villages on or as near as
practicable to the lines herein designated, locating the same
by metes and bounds, and the costs of said survey shall be
deducted from the first assessment as herein provided for.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That all acts of assembly or,
any parts of such acts that may be in conflict with this act,
shall be inoperative as against this act.

Repeal.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 215.

AN ACT to repeal Section 49 B, and to repeal and re-enact
with amendments, Sections 49 and 49 A of the Code of
Public Local Laws, Article 9, title "Charles County," sub-title
"County Commissioners," as said Sections were enacted
by Chapter 569 of the Acts of 1892.

Effective.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section 49 B of article 9 of the Code of Public
