CHAPTER 199.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commission-
ers of Anne Arundel County in their discretion to levy a
certain sum of money to pay the claim of John G. Crane,
late sheriff for the board of prisoners, during his term of
office.

To pay claim.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel
county in their discretion are hereby authorized and em-
powered to levy upon the assessable basis of said county a sum
of money which in their discretion may seem just to pay the
claim of John G. Crane, late sheriff of Anne Arundel county,
for the board of prisoners, during his term of office.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 200.

AN ACT to provide for additional Justices of the Peace in
the Eighth, Ninth and Twelfth Election Districts of Balti-
more County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That in addition to the present number of justices
of the peace in the eighth, ninth and twelfth election districts
of Baltimore county, now provided for by law, there shall be
an additional justice of the peace appointed for each of said
districts in said county, and the Governor is hereby authorized
to appoint and commission an additional justice of the peace
for each of said districts.

Effective.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
