CHAPTER 201.

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 12 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Garrett County," under the new
sub-title "Pool, Billiards, Minors," to follow Section 198,
and to be numbered Section 198 A.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and the same is hereby
added to article 12 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Garrett County," under the new sub-title, "Pool, Billiards,
Minors," to follow section 198, to be numbered section 198 A,
and to read as follows :

New section.

198 A. It shall not be lawful for any person keeping a drink-
ing saloon, pool or billiard table or tables, in Garrett county,
to allow any minor to frequent or lounge about their place of
business or play pool or billiards therein, except upon the
written permission of the parents or guardians of such minors;
any person permitting minors to so frequent or lounge about
their places of business, or to play pool or billiards therein,
except upon such written permission of their parents or
guardians, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon
conviction thereof, before a justice of the peace, shall be liable
to a fine of not less than ten dollars nor more than fifty dollars
for each and every offense; one-half of the said fine to go to
the informer; and the other half to be paid to the school com-
missioner of said county, for the benefit of the public schools
therein; in default of the payment of such fine and costs the
offender shall be committed to the county jail for thirty days,
or until such fine and costs are paid, whichever shall first
occur.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 3d, 1894.

AN ACT for the protection of persons employed in mills for
grinding flint or other kinds of stone in Carroll county.
