hereby made and added to article eight of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title "Cecil County,"' sub-title " Sheriff," to be
designated as section 336 1/2, and to follow immediately after
section 336, and to read as follows :


New section.


336 1/2. The sheriff of Cecil county shall, on or before the
first day of April, in each and every year, appoint a fit person
to act as physician to the jail of said county, whose duty it
shall be to attend all cases of sickness occurring among the
prisoners confined in said jail, for which service he shall
receive an annual salary of one hundred dollars, to be paid by
the County Commissioners of said county.

Physician to
be appointed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved March 27th, 1894.

Effective.

CHAPTER 127.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
193, 194, 197, 202, 207 and 237 of Article 17 of the Code
of Public Local Laws, entitled "Prince George's County,"
sub-title "Laurel," and re-enact the same with amendments.


SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That sections 193, 194, 197, 202, 207 and 237 of ;
article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Prince
George's County," sub-title "Laurel," be and the same are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, so as to read as follows:

Repeat.

SEC. 193. The male citizens of said town of the age of
twenty-one years and upwards, who shall possess the qualifi-
cation of legally registered voters of the State, and who shall
have actually resided in said town for the space of six months
next preceding the first Monday of April, eighteen hundred
and ninety-four, shall elect on that day at such place as shall
be selected for holding of elections, one person, a legal voter
of said town, who has resided therein one year, at least, next

Mayor to be
elected.
