JOINT RESOLUTIONS.
No. 7.
Joint resolutions requesting Congress to pass the necessary
legislation to have the fish-way at the "Great Falls" in the
Potomac river, improved, in order that fish may have access
to the upper part of said river and its tributaries.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, The "Fish-way" at the Great Falls of the Poto-
mac river is not now in condition to allow the free passage of
fish over said way; and

WHEREAS, The people of Western Maryland are desirous
of having said "Fish-way" improved, in order that the locality
may be benefited and the supply of fish be increased by such
improvement; therefore,

Be it resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Congress of the United States be respectfully urged to
pass the necessary regislation to have said "Fish-way" at the
Great Falls in the Potomac river, improved, in order that fish
may have access to the upper Potomac river and its tributaries.

And be it further resolved, That the Governor of this
State be and he is hereby requested to send a copy of these
resolutions to the United States Senators from Maryland, and
also to the members of the United States House of Represen-
tatives from this State.

Joint resolution requesting the State Librarian to furnish cer-
tain books to the Circuit Court and Orphans' Court for
Charles County.

WHEREAS, By a recent fire in Port Tobacco the court house
of Charles county and the library therein were destroyed, and
wherebv great inconvenience will result to the courts there
held; therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
State Librarian be and he is hereby directed to furnish imme-
diately for the use of the Circuit Court for said county a copy
of each of the Maryland Reports, beginning with the earliest,
so far as it is possible, two copies each of the State Digests,
one copy of Poe's Code of Laws, both general and local, one
