CHAPTER 637.

AN ACT authorizing and empowering the County Commis-
sioners of Queen Anne's County to appoint an additional
constable for the sixth election district of said County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's
county be and they are hereby authorized and empowered to
appoint, in addition to two constables now provided for by law,
one other constable in the sixth district of said county, who
shall reside and have his office in the town of Queen Anne's,
in said district.

Additional
constable.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 6th, 1894.

CHAPTER 638.

AN ACT to refund to Michael Moore the sum of seventeen
dollars and ninety-five cents, paid by him for traders' license,
and which, with his stock of goods, was destroyed by fire.

Effective.

WHEREAS, On the first day of May, 1893, Michael Moore
paid into the office of the clerk of the Circuit Court for Cecil
county, the sum of eighteen dollars and fifty cents, for a
trader's license for one year, as required by law, and on the
following day, his store-building, with contents and the license,
was entirely consumed by fire, thereby preventing him from
securing any benefit, except for one day, from the license, he
being obliged to discontinue business, and of which amount
paid for license, as above, eighteen dollars was paid into the
treasury of the State of Maryland by the clerk of the court
aforesaid; therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Comptroller be and he is hereby author-
ized and directed to issue his warrant on the Treasurer for the
sum of seventeen dollars and ninety-five cents in favor of
Michael Moore, of Cecil county, in payment of the above
claim.
