Subscription
boons.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the directors herein created
to serve until the first Monday in January next, shall have
power to open books for subscriptions to the capital stock of
said corporation, and when not less than twenty per cent, of
the capital stock of said corporation has been subscribed, may
organize, and shall have power to regulate the payment of sub-
scriptions to the capital stock.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 636.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay the claim of
Lemuel J. Mitchell, for services rendered the State of
Maryland.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, Lemuel J. Mitchell, of Anne Arundel County,
acting as special deputy sheriff for said county, during the
winter of 1883, arrested several vessels for violating the oyster
law, and has never been paid for his services by the said State,
although the arrest so made by him resulted in the State
receiving the sum of sixteen hundred and sixty five dollars in
the way of fines imposed for said violations.

Appropria-
tion.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Comptroller is hereby directed to draw
his warrant upon the State Treasurer, in favor of said Lemuel
J. Mitchell, out of money not otherwise appropriated, for the
sum of one hundred and five dollars, in payment of said
services.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
