CHAP. 612

May sue and
be sued. etc.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That said corporation, by
its corporate name, may sue and be sued, answer and defend
suits in any court of law or equity, and may ordain and
establish by-laws, rules and regulations as may appear neces-
sary or proper for conducting its concerns, and shall not be
contrary to law, and the same may change, alter and amend
as shall appear proper; and may have, use and at pleasure
change a common seal, and generally may do any act or
thing necessary or proper to carry into effect the provisions
of this Act and promote the designs of the corporation.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That said corporation
shall have the power to purchase, lease or otherwise acquire

property.

and hold real and personal property in Prince George's
county, Calvert county and in Anne Arundel county, such
property to be used and applied by it for the uses of said
corporation consistent with the provisions of this Act, and to
sell and dispose of the same, and perform all acts consistent
with this Act and the laws of this State; provided, however,
that the property to be held by the said corporation, at any
time, shall not exceed in value twenty thousand dollars.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 513.

AN ACT to adopt Mary Catharine Lutz as the daughter of
William H. Routzahn.
WHEREAS, Mary Catharine Lutz, who is now intermarried

with Rev. L. Walter Lutz, was taken into the home of Wm.
H. Routzahn when she was two years old, and from thence-
forth until the date of her marriage in November, 1895, was
maintained, supported, educated and cared for by the said
William H. Routzahn as his own child; and
WHEREAS, The said William H. Routzahn is now desirous
that the said Mary Catharine Lutz shall at his death receive
and obtain the benefit of certain life insurance, and in order
to do so it is necessary that the said Mary Catharine Lutz be
adopted as his daughter; therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Mary Catharine Lutz, wife of Rev. L. Walter
Lutz, be and she is hereby adopted as the daughter of Wm.
