CHAP. 481

said corporate board of finance of the Baltimore Annual
Conference of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, dated
June 12, 1904, and recorded among the aforesaid land
records, in Liber R. O. No. 1882, folio 478, etc., and from
Charles Shipley and Ida Shipley, his wife, to the said cor-
porate board of finance of the Baltimore Annual Conference
of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South, dated May 28,
1895, and recorded among the aforesaid land records, in
Liber J. B. No. 1562, folio 161, etc.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 3, 1906.

CHAPTER 482.

AN ACT to authorize the Commission heretofore appointed
by the Governor, by authority of Chapter 181 of the Acts
of 1902, and continue its duties as defined by said Act,
and make available for use of said commission the unex-
pended balance appropriated by said Act of 1902, confirmed
by Chapter 293 of the Acts of 1904.

WHEREAS, The General Assembly of Maryland, at the

Preamble.

January Session of 1904, continued in office the commission
to investigate the cause, origin, treatment, prevention and
cure of the disease in horses known as cerebro-spinal menin-
gitis; and

WHEREAS, There has been no outbreak of said disease
among horses in Maryland during the continuance of said
commission; and

WHEREAS, Said disease in horses and other diseases of
live stock, especially tuberculosis in cattle, are injurious and
tend to depress the live stock and dairy interests of Mary-
land; and

WHEREAS, Ample funds appropriated by the Act of 1902,
Chapter 181, remain unexpended, and cannot be used for the
further prosecution of the work of investigation under the
provisions of said Act unless confirmed by further legislation ;
therefore,
