CHAP. 458

inability of the commissioners of Easton, by reason of death,
resignation, absence or any other cause, to perform the
duties herein prescribed for them, then John. F. Rathell,
Nehemiah E. Clark and Willis Flowers are hereby appointed

appointed,
etc,

a special commission, with power and authority, and they
are hereby directed to perform all the duties and exercise all
the powers herein conferred on the commissioners of Easton
in regard to the holding of the first election to be held under
this Act; and in the event of the death, resignation, removal
or inability from any cause to act of the clerk to the com-
missioners of Easton, then in that event all the duties of
the town clerk in this Act conferred upon the said clerk to
the commissioners of Easton are conferred upon John W. D.
Jump, who is hereby authorized and empowered to perform
all the duties herein conferred upon said clerk in regard to
the holding of the first election provided for in this charter.
97 X. All debts and obligations contracted by the commis-
sioners of Easton either in their corporate capacity or as

individuals, for and on behalf of the town, shall be assumed
and paid by the Mayor and Council of Easton.
97 Y. All elective and appointed officers of the town of

Qualified
voters.

Easton shall, at the date of their election or appointment,
be qualified voters thereof.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
Approved April 2, 1906.

CHAPTER 459.
AN ACT to add a new section, to be designated 36 A, to the
Act of 1898, Chapter 123, entitled "Article 4, City of Bal-
timore," of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
and also to repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections
33, 61 and 86 of said Act.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
