and when the same shall be due; then to keep the balance,
if any, on deposit as hereinbefore provided for.
SEC. XIV. And be it enacted, That the clerk to the County
|

Books to be
kept.
|
Commissioners shall keep a book showing the amount at
which said bonds are sold to any individual or corporate
purchaser and a statement of the whole coupon indebtedness ;
and as the said coupons are paid to make an entry of the
same, and whatever coupons are paid and redeemed it shall
be the duty of the said County Commissioners to have the
same burned in the presence of a majority of the board of
County Commissioners and a memorandum thereof entered
on a record book to be kept by the said clerk to the office
of the County Commissioners.
SEC. XV. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 314.
AN ACT to fix, limit and determine the term of office of the
County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County, that shall
hereafter be elected or appointed, perpetuating succession
to same and extending the duties and fixing the compensa-
tion of same, and repealing all laws or parts of laws so far
as they are inconsistent with the provisions of this Act.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That at the general election to be held On the first

Tuesday after the first Monday of November, 1907, there
shall be elected seven County Commissioners for Queen
Anne's county, and thereafter the number of County Com-
missioners for said county shall be seven, and shall be elected
at every general election held on the same day in every
second year thereafter, and the County Commissioners so
elected shall hold their office for the term of two years from
the time of their election, or until their successors shall be
elected and qualified.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That in case of the death,

removal or resignation of any County Commissioner, during
the term of his service, the Governor shall have the power
to fill the vacancy until the next general election, provided
that no two commissioners shall be elected or appointed from
one and the same election district of said county.
