render travel impossible upon said bridge), make proper
arrangements for transporting persons, vehicles and beasts
across such streams while such bridges are being repaired
or constructed.
SEC. XII. And be it enacted, That the fund to be realized

from the sale of the said bonds shall be deposited by the
said County Commissioners in the name and to the credit of
the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel county in the
Farmers' National Bank of Annapolis and in the Annapolis
Banking and Trust Company, in equal amounts, and shall be
paid out and applied by the said County Commissioners by
checks in equal amounts drawn upon the said funds in each of
said banking institutions, so as to leave on deposit in each,
from time to time, an equal amount as near may be; and no
money shall be withdrawn from the deposit of funds herein
provided for except on checks signed by the president of the
board of County Commissioners and by the county treasurer,
and countersigned by the clerk to said board, and the same
shall be applied to the following purposes, namely: 1st, to
the redemption of all county certificates or other evidences
of indebtedness now outstanding; 2d, to the repair, con-
struction or reconstruction of any bridges requiring the
same; 3d, to the payment of the current expenses of the
county, as the same may accrue, or shall have accrued; and
any balance remaining after providing for the said above
specified objects shall be turned into the sinking fund; and
the president of the board of County Commissioners and
the county treasurer are hereby authorized and directed to
pay out the said funds, from time to time, upon the order
of the board of County Commissioners, for the said above
specified purposes, said payments to be made by proper
checks drawn for equal amounts from each of the said bank-
ing institutions, as aforesaid.
SEC. XIII. And be it enacted, That the bonds so to be

issued shall be designated as bonds for Anne Arundel county,
State of Maryland, and upon the assignment of the County
Commissioners of said county of the amount of money neces-
sary, first, to the payment of the floating indebtedness of
said county; second, to the repair, construction or recon-
struction of bridges over navigable streams; and third, for
the maintenance of a cash system by paying cash for all
contracts, work or appropriations for county purposes as
