CHAP. 313

Sum of money
to be set
apart.

SEC. IX. And be it enacted, That from the moneys collected
by the treasurer each year on account of county taxes, the
' said sum of five thousand dollars shall be set apart for said
sinking fund, as set forth in Section VIII of this Act, and a
separate account of the same shall be kept by the treasurer
and deposited to the credit of said fund in the said Annapo-
lis Savings Institution and the said Annapolis Banking and
Trust Company, in equal parts, as hereinbefore prescribed
in Section VIII, and no part of which shall be chargeable
within insolvencies granted the treasurer on account of
failure of assessments or collections. And in all cases in
which checks shall be drawn for any purpose whatever upon
the said funds, deposited as herein provided for, said checks
shall be drawn for equal amounts upon the funds on deposit
in each of the banking institutions mentioned herein, so as
to leave on deposit in each of said institutions an equal
amount, as near as may be.
SEC. X. And be it enacted, That the moneys arising from

sale of bonds

the sale of said bonds shall be paid to the joint order of the
president of the board of County Commissioners of Anne
Arundel county and the treasurer of said county; and the
said treasurer shall keep in a book to be provided for this
purpose, a full registry of the bonds sold, the different series
thereof, the serial numbers of the bonds and the names of
the purchasers, and the amounts realized on sale and any
transfers or assignments thereof, and no moneys realized
from the sale of said bonds shall be paid for road work in
any district or districts of said county, the same being a
charge against the respective districts; and whatever moneys
are paid out upon the outstanding certificates for road work,
the same shall be charged as against the district for which
the said money is so paid, it being the intent of this Act
that under the provisions of law, as now existing, that each
district shall pay the amount levied against it for the road
work therein, and in making levies for the payment of said
bonds where levies have not heretofore been made against
the said respective districts, that the proportion of money
paid on behalf of any single district shall be a charge against
such district.
SEC. XI. And be it enacted, That the said County Com-
missioners shall, before the work of repairing any bridges
across a navigable stream actually begin (if said work shall
