CHAP. 296

CHAPTER 296.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 252 and 253 of Article 17 of the
Code of Public Local Laws for Prince George's County,
title "Intoxicating Drinks," and to re-enact the same with
amendments and to add additional sections thereto; to
repeal Chapter 460 of the Acts of 1890 and to re-enact
the same with amendments; and to repeal Chapter 571 of
the Acts of 1902.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
Chapter 571 of the Acts of 1902 be and the same is hereby

re-enact

repealed, and Section 252 as amended by Chapter 460 of the
Acts of 1890, and Section 253 of Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws entitled "Prince George's County," sub-
title "Liquor and Intoxicating Drinks," be and the same are
hereby repealed and thereupon re-enacted, so as to read as
follows :
Section 252. If any person intends to sell or barter spirit-
uous or fermented liquors or alcoholic bitters, or all com-

bined, or shall open or keep any oyster house, cook shop,
vitualing house or larger beer saloon in which spirituous or
fermented liquors or lager beer may be sold in any quantity
or by the drink in any of the election districts of Prince
George's county, such person in addition to the respective
amounts to be paid to the State of Maryland under Article
56 of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Licenses," or
under any other section of said article shall pay the sum of
$100 to the clerk of the Circuit Court for Prince George's
county for the use of the public roads of said county, except
that in the second and sixteenth election districts, known as
Bladensburg and Hyattsville, he shall pay $400 to said
clerk; one-half of such sum when realized from licenses issued
to sell within the corporate limits of the town of Bladens-
burg, the said clerk shall pay to the commissioners of said
town as soon as received by him, the same to be applied by
said Town Commissioners to the repair and improvement of
the roads in said town, as is now provided for by Chapter
164, Section 64 of the Acts of 1902. This section shall not
apply to the tenth election district of said county.
Section 253. No spirituous or fermented liquors or
alcoholic bitters shall be sold in any election district of
