ing on the third Monday in March in each year, and shall
sit from the hour of ten in the morning to the hour of nine
in the evening on each of said three days, and twenty days'
public notice shall be given of such sitting in some news-
paper or newspapers published in said city, and such regis-
tration shall be made, as far as possible, in accordance with
the general registration laws of the State of Maryland, as to
questions asked requisites for voting and ascertaining the
exact residence of the voters on the streets, lanes and alleys
of said city.
137. And said officers of registration shall keep a separate

set of registration books for each of the said city wards, and
shall, at their annual sittings, make such changes, altera-
tions and transfers as may be necessary for making and
maintaining correct lists of the qualified voters in each of
said wards.

MAYOR.

shall be governed by a Mayor and six Council men; the
Mayor shall be chosen by the duly qualified registered voters
of said city on the first Tuesday of April, 1906, and every
second year thereafter, at the usual place or places of hold-
ing elections in said city. The Mayor at the time of his
election shall be a male citizen of said city who shall have
resided in said city at the time of his election for three con-
secutive years prior to the time of his election and shall
have been actually possessed of and assessed with on the
tax books of said city real and personal property to the value
of one thousand dollars ($1,000) for at least a year previous
to his election, and he shall hold office for two years from
the date of his election or until his successor shall have been
qualified.

139. Three Councilmen shall be elected on the first Tues-

and registered voters of said town to serve for two years from
the date of their election, and the three Councilmen who
were elected to serve as Councilmen for two years from the
first Tuesday of April, 1905, shall serve until the first Mon-
