282. Said County Commissioners shall deliver to the
board of highway commissioners herein created, or pay over

to their order, all the funds from liquor licenses, to be used
upon the public highways of the county; provided, that the
funds thus arising may be used as a county contribution in
connection with any State or National appropriation for
highways, and provided, further, that incorporated towns in
Prince George's county shall first receive back one-half of
the funds derived from liquor licenses issued to persons
dealing in liquor within the limits of said town; and when-
ever any road is to be built by the county, in connection
with any State or National appropriation for highways, the
contract for building the same shall be let out by the afore-
said highway commission by advertising for sealed bids in
such papers as to them may deem the best medium of
advertisement, the said bids to be publicly opened at a date
named in said advertisement.
283. The County Commissioners of Prince George's
county, in addition to the duties imposed upon them by the

Public Local and the Public General Laws of Maryland, are
hereby constituted a board of highway commissioners for
Prince George's county; and they shall take full charge and
supervision of the business pertaining to the building, con-
struction and repairing of county roads, bridges and culverts
in said county, and shall regulate the working seasons to
constitute a day's services, hire and contract for all labor,
purchase road machine other necessary implements, fix
wages and hire labor, teams, wagons, carts, plows and all
other matters and things used about the construction of said
road; they shall formulate plans and make rules for the
prosecution of the work of repairing and constructing all
roads, bridges and culverts in said county in the most
economical and effective manner, and shall determine
whether any part of said work shall be done by contract or
otherwise, giving always the preference to contract work as
hereinafter provided.
284. Prince George's county is hereby divided into five
road districts, to be known respectively as Road Districts

Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Road District No. 1 shall be composed
of Election Districts No. 10 (Laurel), No. 1 (Vansville) and
No. 14 (Bowie), as now constituted; Road District No. 2
shall be composed of Election Districts No. 2 (Bladensburg),

Road districts,
etc.
