SECTION 1. Be. it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 80 of Article 20 of the Code of Public

Local Laws of Maryland, title " Somerset County/' sub-title
"Crisfield," be and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, so as to read as follows :

Section 80. The commissioners of Crisfield shall have

authority to require all property holders on any street in the
town of Crisfield to make sidewalks in front of their premises
and to keep the same in repair when such premises front on
any public street of the town; they may prescribe the proper
grade and require the curbing to be set in accordance there-
with, and may prescribe such material to be used as shall
seem a safe, solid, and convenient footing to the public; and
if any owner shall refuse or neglect to have such sidewalk
in front of his premises within sixty days from the date of
notification by said commissioners, the said commissioners
may order the same to be done at the expense of the owners
of the different lots in front of which the paving shall be
done and the cost thereof shall be a lien against the abutting
property and shall be collected as other town taxes are col-
lected, or by an action of debt in the name of said commis-
sioners, and any judgment obtained in such case shall be a
preferred lien on said property.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 216.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor and Common
Council of Union Bridge, Carroll County, Maryland, to bor-
row money on the credit of said town of Union Bridge, for
the purpose of purchasing, constructing or erecting an
Electric Light and Power Plant; to issue bonds for the
payment of the same, and to levy taxes on the assessable
property of said town of Union Bridge; to redeem said
bonds and pay the interest thereon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That for the purpose of constructing, erecting or pur-
chasing and maintaining an electric light and power plant.
