CHAP. 27

CHAPTER 26.
AN ACT declaring that a copy of the books, papers, entries
and proceedings belonging to the office of the State Tax
Commissioner shall be evidence.

Books, papers,
etc., received
as evidence.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a copy of any books, papers, entries or proceedings
belonging to the office of the State Tax Commissioner, attested
by the State Tax Commissioner, shall be received as evidence
in any court of law or equity, or before any judge, justice of
the peace or other tribunal in this State, in the same manner
and to have the same effect as if the original books, papers,
entries or proceedings were themselves produced.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 27.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
179 of Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Allegany County," sub-title "Justices of the Peace and
Constables," as the same was amended by Act of 1902,
Chapter 197, and by Act of 1904, Chapter 249, and to
repeal and re-enact with amendments Sections 179 A and
179 B of the said two Acts, with the object of providing
for the appointment of Justices of the Peace for Allegany
County, and for fixing the salaries of the Justices of the
Peace for the districts comprising the city of Cumberland.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

Local Laws, title "Allegany county," sub-title "Justices of
the Peace and Constables," as the same was enacted by
Chapter 197 of the Acts of 1902, and Chapter 249 of the
Acts of 1904, and Sections 179 A and 179 B as enacted by
the said Acts of 1902, Chapter 197, and 1904, Chapter 249,
be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted, so as
to read as follows :
179. There shall be appointed by the Governor at the
session of the Legislature of 1906, and biennially there-
