as said section was repealed and re-enacted with amend-
ments by the Act passed at January Session, 1904, Chapter
540, and to re-enact the same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

land, That Section 37 of Article 12 of the Code of Public
Local Laws, title " Garrett County," sub-title " County Com-
missioners," as amended and re-enacted by Chapter 475 of
the Acts of 1890, and as said section was repealed and
re-enacted with amendments by the Act passed at January
Session, 1904, Chapter 540, be and the same is hereby
repealed, so as to read as follows :

Repeal.

37. That at the general election of county officers of Gar-
rett county, to be held in said county, November, 1907, and
every two years thereafter, a clerk to the Board of County
Commissioners shall be elected by the qualified voters of
said county, who shall hold the office of clerk for the term
of two years from the time of his election and qualification
or until his successor is elected and qualified, and shall be
subject to removal from said office for any wilful neglect of
duty or misbehavior in office at any time by the County Com-
missioners of said county; said clerk shall be paid for his

services the sum of eight hundred dollars per annum, payable
in monthly installments of sixty-six dollars and sixty-six cents
at the expiration of each and every month by the treasurer
of Garrett county from the funds of said county, and said
clerk shall have full power to administer an oath or affirma-
tion to any and all persons who is to be examined as a wit-
ness in any matter before said County Commissioners, and
touching or relating to any account, bill or other matter to
be filed in the office of said County Commissioners; and said
salary of eight hundred dollars per annum shall be full com-
pensation for all services rendered and required of said clerk,
who shall keep the office of County Commissioners open from
nine o'clock in the forenoon until four o'clock in the after-
noon and who shall attend therein for the transaction of
business on every day of the week except Sunday and legal
holidays.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
