Sheriff to be
reimbursed.
|
for use on the county roads; the County Commissioners are
hereby required to reimburse the sheriff or other officer out
of the county fund for any expenses he may be put to in
conveying the said prisoners to and from such road, quarry,
pit or yard, or in properly guarding the said prisoners while
at work on said road or at said quarry, pit or yard, under
the direction of the county road representative or represen-
tatives, and under such regulations as the sheriff or other
officer may deem necessary for their health and safe custody.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 748.
AN ACT to regulate the use, control and rental of a certain
wharf in the City of Baltimore belonging to the State of
Maryland.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

Notice to quit
given.

land, That the Board of Public Works be and hereby is
directed forthwith to give a notice to quit at the expiration
of the current tenancy to Henry Williams, lessee, and to
his assignee in possession (if there be such assignee) of the
wharf in the city of Baltimore belonging to the State of
Maryland, situated on Light street opposite the State Tobacco
Warehouse No. 3 A, at the southeast corner of Conway street
and Light street wharf, and extending southerly from that
point 103 feet. Such notice may be served upon said Henry
Williams or his assignee personally, or it may be served by
posting the same upon said wharf. The tenancy of said
wharf from year to year, or of whatsoever nature the tenancy
may be, shall cease and determine on the expiration of the
current year or other period of tenancy occurring next after
the service or posting of the above-mentioned notice.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That it shall be the duty
of the chief tobacco inspector, on the expiration of the cur-

to report to the Board of Public Works in writing as soon as
