Provision for
formation of
corporations

16. For the creation and maintenance of mechanics' insti-
tutes, co-operative stores or societies, libraries, public reading
rooms, medical societies, public hotels, public baths, dairy
associations, poultry associations for the purpose of dealing
in eggs, increase of poultry and other things connected with
poultry farming and agriculture or horticulture societies,
fairs, or exhibitions, and companies for the packing of fruits,
vegetables and other things; provided, such corporations
are located in this State and the property they possess or
acquire is located therein.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 723.
AN ACT to exempt from taxation the real and personal
property of the Vestry of the Church of the Holy Inno-
cents, of the city of Baltimore, a body corporate, so long
as said property is used for charitable or benevolent pur-
poses.
WHEREAS, It is represented to the General Assembly of
Maryland that the vestry of the Church of the Holy Inno-

cents, a Protestant Episcopal Church of the city of Balti-
more, a religious organization, has purchased a certain house
on the northeast corner of Chase and Eden streets, in the
city of Baltimore, to be used as a Guild House for charita-
ble and religious purposes, in connection with said church,
and not for profit or gain; therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

land, That said property, real and personal, be and the same
is hereby declared exempt from city and State taxation so
long as it is used for said purposes.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
