provide for the appointment of a certified public account-
ant for the City of Cumberland, and prescribes his duties
and fixes his compensation; said new sections to be
known as 79 J, 79K, 79L and 79M.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of

Maryland, entitled "Allegany County," sub-title "Cumber-
land," be and the same is hereby amended, by adding
thereto four new sections, providing for the appointment of
a certified public accountant for the city of Cumberland, pre-
scribing his duties and fixing his compensation; said new
sections to be known as 79 J, 79 K, 79 L and 79 M.
Section 79j. The Mayor of the city of Cumberland shall,

on the first Monday in June, 1906, and every two years
thereafter, appoint for said city, a certified public accountant,
who is skilled in the examination and adjustment of books
and accounts.

as aforesaid, it shall be the duty of said certified public

his work as aforesaid, it shall be his duty to make a full and
complete report thereof to the Mayor and City Council,
showing the state of accounts between the said city and said
officers; and if any of said officers have not complied with
the laws and ordinances of said city in the discharge of
their official duties the said certified public accountant shall
call special attention thereto in said report.
