CHAP. 602.

newly numbered by the Act of 1901, chapter 8, namely : tenth,
eleventh, fourteenth, sixteenth, nineteenth and twentieth,
as paid wards were laid out under the provisions of the Act of
1898 aforesaid ; and the fourth legislative district of Baltimore
city shall be and consist of the following wards as newly num-
bered by the Act of 1901, chapter 8, namely : seventeenth,
eighteenth, twenty-first, twenty-second, twenty-third and
twenty- fourth, as said wards were laid out under the provis-
ions of the Act of 1898 aforesaid.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from and after the first day of September, 1903.

CHAPTER 603.
AN ACT to authorize and direct the Comptroller to appor-
tion to Somerset County the instalment known as the March
Instalment of the State School Tax, for the year nineteen
hundred and two, said instalment being the apportionment
made to Somerset County on the fifteenth day of March in
each year.

ment of
school tax.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Comptroller be and he is hereby author-
ized and directed to apportion to Somerset county its proper
proportion of the school tax for the year nineteen hundred
and two, known as the March instalment of said school tax
to be made by the Comptroller in pursuance of law on the
first day of March in each year, in the same manner as if the
county schools of Somerset county had been kept open seven
and one-half months in the year ending December 31, nine-
teen hundred and one.

How
applied.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Board of School
Commissioners shall apply the said sum so received by the
provisions of this Act to the support of the public schools of
said county in the same manner as the other portions of the
State school tax received by said county are intended to be
applied under the provisions of the existing law of this State.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
