terminates at Spring Garden Harbor, without the consent
of the General Assembly of Maryland.

CHAP. 558.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall not be lawful for any person or cor-
poration to lay any railway tracks upon Hanover street,
between Lee street in the city of Baltimore and the southern
extremity of said street, which terminates at Spring Garden
harbor, without the consent of the General Assembly of
Maryland; provided, that this Act shall not restrict in any
way the right of any passenger railway company now incor-
porated, or that may hereafter be incorporated, to cross said
Hanover street, when such railway company shall be author-
ized by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to use any
street or avenue opening into said Hanover street.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 559.

AN ACT to change the name of the Frostburg, Echart and
Cumberland Railway Company of Allegany county, Mary-
land, to authorize the consolidation of the said company
with certain other corporations, and to grant additional
powers to said railway company, and to authorize said other
corporation to contract or consolidate with said company.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the name of the Frostburg, Echart and
Cumberland Railway Company of Allegany county, Mary-
land, incorporated under Article 23 of the Code of Public Gen-
eral Laws of Maryland, be and the same is hereby changed to
the Cumberland and Western Electric Railway Company, by
which name said company shall have all the property, enjoy
all of the rights and exercise all of the powers which were
heretofore possessed by said corporation under the former
name, and said corporation, subject to the powers of the
General Assembly to amend or repeal this Act, shall have
perpetual succession.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said company
shall have power to acquire by consolidation, merger, lease,
purchase or otherwise, all or any part or parts of the assets,
rights, franchises, stocks and property of any kind of the
Lonaconing, Midland and Frostburg Railway Company of
