SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That said bridge shall be con-
structed and built with its abutments and approaches under
the direction, supervision and control of the said bridge
engineer, and no part of the money agreed upon by said con-
tract to be paid to the contractor shall be paid except upon
the warrant of said engineer that said contractor is entitled
to such payment under the terms and conditions of his con-
tract.

CHAP. 538.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That at the time of executing
the contract for the erection of said bridge the party to whom
such contract is let shall enter into bond to the State of
Maryland in such penalty as the said County Commissioners
shall jointly determine, conditioned for the faithful perform-
ance of the terms of his said contract, which bond shall be
liable at the suit of the County Commissioners of either of
the said counties, respectively.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That the expense of building
said bridge, together with all costs for plans and specifications
thereof, and services of said engineer shall be borne equally
by Anne Arundel county and Prince George's county, and the
County Commissioners of said counties, respectively, shall
levy upon the assessable property of their respective counties
for their respective one-half of said costs and expenses of said
bridge, or in such manner as is authorized by law.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the County Commissioners
of Anne Arundel county be and they are hereby authorized
to pay the proportion of the cost and expenses of said bridge
due by said Anne Arundel county out of the fund realized on
the sale of Severn River Bridge Bonds authorized to be
issued by Acts of this General Assembly, chapter —— .
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 539.
AN ACT to add a new Section to Article 33 of the Code of
Public General Laws, title "Elections," sub-title "Judges
and Clerks of Elections," to follow Section 9 o, and to be
known as Section 9 D.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and the same is hereby
added to Article 33 of the Code of Public General Laws, title
"Elections," sub-title "Judges and Clerks of Elections," to
follow section 9 C, and to read as follows :
