CHAP. 514

in the City of Baltimore, and re-enact the same with amend-
ments, so as to read as follows :

Repeal
and re-enact.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That chapter 269 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland of 1900, entitled an Act to provide.
Additional Revenue for the Special Fund of the Board of
Police Commissioners of the city of Baltimore, to be derived
from the granting or issuing permits to give public dances,
soirees, masked balls, boxing or athletic contests, or either of
them, in the city of Baltimore, be aud the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted with amendments, so as to read as
follows :

Permits to be

SEC. 2. The Board of Police Commissioners of the city of
Baltimore are hereby authorized to issue permits for the
giving or holding of public dances, soirees, masked balls, bos-
ing or athletic contests, or either of them, in the city of Balti-
more.

permit.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That no public dances, soirees,
masked balls, boxing or athletic contest, or other public enter-
tainment of like kind, to or for which an admission fee shall
be charged, shall be held, given or permitted in the city of
Baltimore, except upon condition that a license or permit fee
of not lees than $5 nor more than $100 shall first be paid to
the secretary of the Board of Police Commissioners, who are
authorized to demand and receive the same for the benefit of
the special fund ; provided, that nothing herein contained
shall interfere with any permits authorized, issued or collected
by the authority of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore.
Any person or corporation violating the provisions of this
section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon
conviction thereof shall be fined not less than $5 nor more
than $100.

SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 515.

AN ACT to repeal Sections ten and thirteen of Article forty-
three of the Code of Public General Laws of Maryland,
title "Health," sub-title "State Board of Health," so far as
the same relate to Baltimore County ; also to repeal Chapter
four hundred and sixty of the Acts of the General Assembly
