SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Mayor and Council of Salisbury, Mary-
land, be authorized for the purpose of defraying the cost of
repairing tire engines of said city cf Salisbury, are empowered
to borrow money not exceeding four thousand dollars ($4,000)
on the faith and credit of said city, and to issue bonds of
indebtedness in denominations of tive hundred dollars ($500),
bearing interest at the rate not exceeding tive per cent, per
annum, payable annually, the said bonds to be made payable
in equal series of one, two, three, four, tive, six, seven and
eight years, and to commence the redemption of the same in
the year nineteen hundred and eight ; said bonds to be num-
bered, commencing with number one ; and the Mayor and
Council shall levy a special tax, not more than tive cents on
one hundred dollars ($100) the year preceding, to meet and
pay the bonds as they may become due, and the interest on
the same, and all taxes levied as herein directed shall be due
and demandable on the first day of January succeeding their
levy; provided, said bonds shall not be sold at Jess than par.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 464.
AN ACT to declare the sanction and consent of the General
Assembly of Maryland to sundry gifts and bequests under
the will of Catherine B. Needles, late of Baltimore city,
deceased.

CHAP. 463.

etc.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the sanction and consent of the said General
Assembly of Maryland be and the same are hereby declared,
given and made to the bequests, devises and gifts contained in
the will of Catherine B. Needles, late of Baltimore city,
deceased, in favor of the Convention of the Protestant Epis-
copal Church of the Diocese of Maryland, consisting of two
bequests aggregating in amount the sum of six thousand
dollars, and in favor of the vestry of Grace Protestant Epis-
copal Church in Baltimore city, consisting of a bequest of a
sum of one thousand dollars, and a provision in favor of the
said vestry in the residue clause of the said will, which said
will has been admitted to probate in the Orphans' Court of
Baltimore City, and is now of record in the office of the Reg-
ister of Wills of said city.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.
