CHAP. 465.

CHAPTER 465.
AN ACT to add a new Section to Article 15 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Kent County, " sub-title "Chester-
town, " to follow Section fifty-nine A, as enacted by Chap-
ter 441 of the Acts of 1900, to be designated as 59 B.

New section
added.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and the same is hereby
added to Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Kent County, " sub-title "Chestertown, " to read as follows:

Public notice
given of
annual levy.

Section 59 B. It shall be the duty of the treasurer each year
as soon as the annual levy is made to give public notice
thereof, by advertisement inserted in two newspapers printed
and published in Chestertown, and deliver or mail to each tax-
payer a bill of his taxes, and the taxes so levied shall be due
and payable on the first day of September of the year in which
they are so levied. On the first day of January in each year
taxes shall be deemed to be in arrears, and interest shall be
charged and collected on all taxes not then paid from Septem-
ber the first, the date when they become due and payable; and
immediately after the first day of January the treasurer shall
deliver or mail to each delinquent who has not prior thereto
received the same on account of his assessment and the taxes
and interest due thereon, with a notice and warning to said
delinquent thereto attached, that unless payment be made in
full within thirty days that the same will be collected by
process of law.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 466.
AN ACT to repeal Section 17 A of Article 77 of the Code
of Public General Laws of Maryland, title " Public
Education, " sub-title " Superintendent of Public Educa-
. tion, " and to re-enact the same with amendments.

Repeal
and re-enact.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section 17 A of Article 77 of the Code
of Public General Laws, title "Public Education, " sub-title
" Superintendent of Public Education, " providing for a
Superintendent of Public Education and determining his
duties, as contained in Chapter 428 of the Public General
Laws, passed at January Session, 1900, be repealed and
re-enacted with amendments, so as to read as follows:
