STATE OF MARYLAND.

CHAP. 394.

George's County, for the transportation and care of ballot
boxes in the contested election case of Charles W. Darr vs.
George B. Merrick, during the Session of 1900 ; and also
appropriate a sum of money to pay the claim of John T.
Burch for taking testimony as Justice of the Peace and
acting as Tally Clerk in said case.

Warrant to be
issued.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Comptroller of the State be and he is
hereby directed to draw his warrant upon the Treasurer of the
State in favor of James B. Belt, clerk of the Circuit Court
for Prince George's county, for the sum of two hundred and
twenty-five dollars for the transportation of ballot boxes from
Marlboro to Annapolis, and the care of the same while in
Annapolis, and the pay of four deputies in connection there-
with, in the contested election case of Charles W. Darr vs.
George B. Merrick.

Warrant to
be issued.

SEC. 1 A. And be it enacted, That the Comptroller of the
State be and he is hereby directed to draw his warrant upon
the Treasurer of the State in favor of John T. Burch for the
sum or sixty-five dollars for his services as a justice of the
peace in taking testimony in this case and for his services as
tally clerk before the legislative committee in the count of the
ballots in said case.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 395.
AN ACT to repeal Section 11 of Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Washington County,"
sub-title "Almshouse," and to re-enact the same with
amendments.

Repeal
and re-enact.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section 11 of Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Washington County,"
sub-title "Almshouse," be and the same is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, so as to read as follows :

Meet four
times a year.


11. They shall meet at the almshouse four times in the
year, in the first week in January, April, July and October, or
oftener if necessary, and make and ordain, by a majority of
votes of such as may be present, all such rules and by-laws as
they shall think necessary for the support and government of
said almshouse.
