CHAPTER 376.

AN ACT to authorize the State Librarian to purchase, at
and for the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars, one thou-
sand copies of the Brochure "Annapolis and the Naval
Academy."

CHAP. 378.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the State Librarian is hereby authorized to
purchase, at and for the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars,
one thousand copies of the Brochure "Annapolis and the
Naval Academy," the same to be placed in the custody of the
State Librarian for gratuitous distribution to the schools,
colleges and libraries of this and other States.

purchased.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That the Comptroller be and he
is hereby authorized and directed to draw his warrant upon
the Treasurer, in favor of Mary C. Dugan, the publisher of
said Brochure, for the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars,
upon the delivery by her to said librarian of said one thousand
copies.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 377.

AN ACT to authorize and direct the Comptroller of the State
to refund to R. Luther Shipley money erroneously paid into
the State Treasury.

WHEREA.S, R. Luther Shipley was assessed and paid taxes
from the year 1876 to 1895, both inclusive, upon one hundred

and sixty-eight acres of land while he owned but one hundred
and fifty-eight acres, the State taxes upon said over-assessment
of ten acres, amounting, during said years, to thirteen dollars
and forty-two cents, which was paid into the State treasury,
and the Anne Arundel county taxes for said years amounting
to seventy-eight dollars and seventy-six cents, which was
appropriated to the county expenses.
