commissioner's district of said county.

Duty of road
Inspectors.

Section 103 A. It shall be the duty of the road inspectors
to ride over the roads of their respective districts and pre-
cincts, and to ad vise and direct the supervisors when, where
and in what manner work on said roads shall be done ; said
inspectors shall inspect all work done and shall approve or
disapprove, setting forth their reasons in writing to the Board
of County Commissioners all accounts of supervisors as one
herein provided for in this Act; provided, that nothing in
this section shall prevent the County Commissioners f or paying
all or such party of such accounts as they shall deem fair and
just. It shall be the duty of the road inspectors to lodge com-
plaint with the Board of County Commissioners against the
road supervisors of their' respective districts or precincts
whenever in their judgment said supervisors is unfit to hold
said position, and if after due investigation on the part of the
Board of County Commissioners charges are sustained, it shall
be the duty of the County Commissioners to remove said
supervisor.

Section 103 B. The road supervisors shall hold their appoint-
ment for one year, unless removed for cause by the County
Commissioners; they shall be subject to the director of the
road inspector. It shall be the duty of the supervisors to
employ all laborers and to furnish all teams for work on the
public roads, and shall furnish an account to the County Com-
missioners of same, giving tho number of days made by him-
self and by each laborer and teams, and the cost of materials,
together with the approval or disapproval, as herein provided
for, of the road inspectors, at the first meeting of the Board of
Commissioners in every month, or as soon after as practicable.

Bond to be
given.

Section 103 C. The road supervisors shall receive all pay-
ments of accounts, which shall be in cash whenever available,
and shall make proper distributions of same to the rightful
owners, conditioned upon which and for the safe return of all
tools, implements and machines; he shall, before entering
upon his duties as supervisor, give a good and sufficient bond,
with surety to be approved by the County Commissioners, in
the sum of five hundred dollars.

Section 103 D. It shall be the duty of the road supervisors to
remove all obstructions at least ten feet from the centre of the
roads, and to require all owners to remove their fences ten
feet from the centre of said roads, if public convenience shall
require it, and in all deep cuts or sharp curves, to make the
roadbed wide enough for two tracks whenever the same can
be done without excessive cost or inconvenience.
