STATE OF MARYLAND.

CHAP. 348.

Authority by
ordinance
of Mayor and
City Council,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted ty the General Assembly of
Maryland, That whenever in the interest of public health the
.erection or maintenance of temporary buildings, hospitals or
places of detention for the treatment of infectious or conta-
gious diseases shall become necessary, such buildings, hos-
pitals or places of detention for temporary purposes shall be
authorized by an ordinance of the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore, and such ordinance shall name the diseases to be
treated and describe the location of said building or buildings,
hospital or hospitals, or such places of detention ; provided,
that nothing in this Act shall be construed to prevent the
detention by the health officers of said city of Baltimore of
any person or persons that may be suspected of being infected
with or having an infectious or contagious disease.

CHAPTER 349.
AN ACT to authorize the purchase of a lot of ground in the
City of Annapolis and the construction thereon of a central
heating plant for the heating of all the State buildings in
Annapolis, and to appropriate a sum of money therefor,
and for furnishing the State building now being erected.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Maryland, That the Building Commission created by the
Act of 1900, chapter 326, and they are hereby authorized to
purchase or to acquire by condemnation according to the pro-
visions of said Act of 1900, chapter 326, a suitable lot of
ground in the city of Annapolis, and to construct thereon a
suitable central heating plant for the heating of all the State
buildings in Annapolis, and the said Building Commission
shall have for said purposes all the powers, and shall proceed
according to the provisions contained in said Act of 1900,
chapter 326.

Appropria-
tion.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That the sum of one
hundred and forty thousand dollars out of the loan to be
issued for the purpose, is hereby appropriated for the pur-
chase or acquisition of such lot and the construction of such
plant, and for the furnishing of the building now being erected
by said Building Commission under said Act of 1900, chapter
326.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
