Public Local Laws, title "Somerset County," sub-title "Cris-
field," be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, so as
to read as follows :

CHAP. 309.

Repeal
and re-enact.

Section 68 B. Every bailiff before entering upon his duties
shall subscribe to an oath for the faithful performance of his
duties, for the enforcement of the ordinances and resolutions
of the town, and the preservation of its peace and good order ;
he shall be vested with all the civil and police powers of a
constable of Crisfield district, and any one interfering or
hindering him or them in any manner whatsoever in the dis-
charge of his or their duties shall be liable, upon conviction,
to punishment in the same manner and to the same extent as
if he or they had interfered or hindered a constable. Any
bailiff of the town of Crisfield, who shall make an arrest under
and by virtue of any warrant issued by a justice of the peace
of Somerset county having his office in the town of Crisfield,
shall, upon conviction and sentence of such person of persons
to the house of correction, house of refuge or house of
reformation, be allowed to remove such person or persons con-
victed and sentenced as aforesaid to the said house of correc-
tion, house of refuge or house of reformation ; and any bailiff

who shall remove any convict or convicts, prisoner or prison-
ers, to any of the said institutions shall be allowed the same
compensation as is now allowed the sheriff or constables per-
forming the same kind of service, and said compensation shall
include all expenses incidental to the removal of said convict
or convicts, and the County Commissioners of Somerset
county are hereby required and directed to levy and pay over the
said compensation for such service as aforesaid to the bailiff of
the town of Cristield, who shall perform the same at the same
time when other sums for expenses for the said county for the
current or fiscal year are levied and paid ; and he shall perform
all such other duties as are or shall be imposed upon him by
law, ordinance or by order of the Town Commissioners, and
he shall pay over all fines and fees that may be collected by
him to the treasurer monthly.

AN ACT to amend the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Queen Anne's County," new sub-title "County Treas-
urer," by adding a new Section thereto, to be known as
Section 133 G, and repealing all laws inconsistent therewith.
