LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAP. 308.
Preamble.

Carolina, is an epitome of the recent phenominal, industrial and
commercial growth and development of the Southern States in
which the State of Maryland and the city of Baltimore have
taken a conspicuous part ; and
WHEREAS, It is desirable and important to the prosperity of
the State of Maryland that the intimate trade relations hereto-
fore established between Maryland and the South shall be
fostered and promoted in every possible way ; and
WHEREAS, It is customary and advantageous in securing
these ends that a date shall be designated and set apart at such
exposition to be known as Maryland Day, which shall be
appropriately commemorated by the Governor, the commis-
sioners and the people of the State generally, for which pur-
pose it is necessary to provide funds therefor.

Appropria-
tion.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted ly the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the sum of five thousand dollars or so much
thereof as may be necessary is hereby appropriated for the
joint use of said commissioners heretofore appointed by the
Governor, and whose appointments were confirmed by chapter
12, Acts of 1901, of the General Assembly of Maryland,
approved April 1, 1901, and the Comptroller of the State is
hereby authorized to draw his warrants upon the State Treas-
urer for the payment of such requisitions to the extent of this
appropriation as may from time to time be made upon him
by said commissioners. The said requisitions to be signed by
the chairman of said commissioners, and countersigned by
their treasurer, and approved by the Governor, and to be
accompanied by the estimate of the expenses to which the
money so drawn is to be applied.

How to be
expended,

SEC. 2. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That said commissioners are hereby authorized to expend such
appropriation in such manner as in their discretion will best
accomplish the purposes for which it is made.
SEC. 3. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That this Act shall take effect from the date of its
passage.

CHAPTER 309.

AN ACT to repeal Section 68B of Article twenty of the Code
of Public Local Laws, title "Somerset County," sub-title
"Crisfield," and to re-enact the same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
