CHAP. 301.
Preamble.

organized under the laws of the United States, whereby the
cars of said Berwyn and Laurel Electric Railroad Company
are to be operated over the tracks of said City and Suburban
Railway of Washington, from Berwyn, thence through Prince
George's county to a point at or near the boundary line
between the State of Maryland and the District of Columbia,
and for that reason it would be more appropriate to designate
said Berwyn and Laurel Electric Railroad Company as Wash-
ington, Berwyn and Laurel Electric Railroad Company ; now,
therefore,

Name of
corporation
changed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the name of said Berwyn and Laurel Electric
Railroad Company, incorporated under Article 23 of the Code
of Public General Laws of the State of Maryland of 1888, and
supplements thereto and amendments thereof, be and the same
is hereby changed to "Washington, Berwyn and Laurel Elec-
tric Railroad Company," which is hereby fixed and established
as the name of said corporation, which said corporation, by the
name of Washington, Berwyn and Laurel Electric Railroad
Company, shall have and hold all the property, assets and
franchises, enjoy all the rights and privileges and exercise all
the powers and functions which were heretofore conferred
upon and held, owned or possessed by said corporation in,
under and by its former name of Berwyn and Lanrel Electric
Railroad Company.

SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That all the rights,
privileges and franchises heretofore granted by the Mayor
and City Council of Laurel unto the said Berwyn and Laurel
Electric Railroad Company be and the same are hereby
ratified and confirmed so as to make the same effective and
operative in favor of said Washington, Berwyn and Laurel
Electric Railroad Company, and binding upon the said Mayor
and City Council of Laurel, and the said railroad company
shall, in, under and by its name of Washington, Berwyn and
Laurel Electric Railroad Company, have, hold, possess and
enjoy all the rights, privileges, powers and franchises as fully
and beneficially as if said grants had been originally made to
and conferred upon it by the Mayor and City Council of
Laurel in, under and by the name of Washington, Berwyn
and Laurel Electric Railroad Company, instead of in, under
and by the name of Berwyn and Laurel Electric Railroad
Company.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
