SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the County Commissioners of Talbot county
shall levy no taxes upon the assessable property in Talbot
county for the purpose of constructing, repairing or maintain-
ing any highway, public road or bridge which is not in whole
or in part on the land within the limits of said Talbot county,
and the said County Commissioners shall not appropriate or
apply any money of Talbot county which may have been
levied for any purpose whatever for any purpose prohibited by
this Act.

CHAP. 300.
Upon whom
taxes shall be
made.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That to enable the
County Commissioners of Talbot County to carry out the pro-
visions of section one of this Act, chapter three hundred and
fourteen of the Acts passed at the January, 1876, Session of
the General Assembly of Maryland, be and the same is hereby
repealed so far as the same applies to Talbot county.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That all Acts and parts
of Acts inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 301.
AN ACT to change the name of Berwyn and Laurel Electric
Railroad Company to Washington, Berwyn and Laurel
Electric Railroad Company, and to confirm certain fran-
chises and privileges granted to said corporation.

Repeal.
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Berwyn and Laurel Electric Railroad Company is
a corporation duly incorporated and organized under and in
accordance with the provisions of Article 23 of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland of 1888, and supplements
thereto and amendments thereof, for the purpose of operating
a line of electric railway between Berwyn and Laurel, in
Prince George's county ; and
WHEREAS, The Mayor and City Council of Laurel have
heretofore granted unto said corporation, under said name,
style and title, certain rights, privileges and franchises, for
which said grants it is desirous of obtaining appropriate legis-
lative sanction ; and
WHEREAS, Said Berwyn and Laurel Electric Railroad Com-
pany has entered into traffic agreement with City and Suburban
Railway of Washington, a corporation duly incorporated and
