section 9 A, and to read as follows :

CHAP 290.

9 B. The judges and clerks appointed by the Board of Super-
visors of Election for Queen Anne, Dorchester counties shall
not be required to appear before the said board for the purpose
of examination, nor to be sworn in as required by section 9 of
this Article, but the members of said board, before making
appointments of any such judges or clerks, shall thoroughly
inform themselves as to the qualifications of the parties
appointed, and shall not require their attendance before said
board for such examination, and shall appoint only such per-
sons as are known to them to possess the proper qualifications
for the positions to which they are severally appointed, and
the said persons may be sworn in by any member of said
boards or by a justice of the peace or a notary public of said
county, and when sworn in by such justice or notary shall file
with said board a certificate of such qualification.

CHAPTER 291.

AN ACT to add a new Section to Article 56, Code of Public
General Laws, title "Licenses," to follow Section 86s of
said Article, under the sub-title " Penalties;" and to be
known as Section 86C.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the following new section be and hereby is
added to Article 56, Code of Public General Laws, title
" Licenses," to follow section 86 B of said Article, under the
sub-title " Penalties," and to be known as section 86 o.

added.

86 o. It shall not be lawful for any person, or for any club
or association, or for any corporation now formed or hereafter
to be formed, or for any officer, agent or employe of any ,
such club, association or corporation, to hire or employ any
minor to sell or dispense anywhere in the State any beer or
spirituous or fermented liquors of any kind at retail, where
such beer or liquors are to be drunk upon the premises. Any
person violating any provision of this section shall, upon con-
viction, be fined a sum not exceeding one hundred dollars.

SEC.2. And be it enacted, This Act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.
