CHAP. 289.

CHAPTER 289.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact Section 3 of Chapter 37 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of the Session
of 1898, entitled an Act to authorize the Mayor and Council
of the Town of Kensington, Montgomery County, Maryland,
to issue bonds for the purpose of repairing and construction
sidewalks and for other necessary improvements in the said
town empowering to said Town of Kensington to change the
method of assessment of the property of said town for the
purpose of paying the interest and creating a sinking fund
to pay said bonds.

Repeal
and re enact

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Town of Kensington be and it is hereby
authorized to change the method of assessment upon the
assessable property in said town to meet the interest and to
create a sinking fund for the purpose of paying the bonds
issued by said Town of Kensington under the provisions of
section 3 of chapter 37 of the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland of 1898, and said section 3 of chapter 37 of the
said Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland of 1898 is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, so as to read as follows:

Tax to
be levied.

Section 3. That the Town of Kensington shall have power
and authority and are hereby required to levy all taxes neces-
sary to pay the interest and to create a sinking fund of not
less than two hundred dollars per annum for the purpose of
paying said bonds at maturity, and they shall levy two-thirds
of said taxes against the property in said town abutting upon
said sidewalks and the remaining one-third thereof against all
the taxable property in said town.
SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect from the date of its
passage.

Approved April 8, 1902.

CHAPTER 290.

AN ACT to add a new Section to Article 33 of the Code of
Public General Laws, title "Elections," sub-title "Judges,
and Clerks of Elections," to follow Section 9 A, and to be
designated Section 9 B.

New section
added.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That a new section be and it is hereby added to
Article 33 of the Code of Public General Laws, title "Elec-
