of each and every year, nor any robin at any time, under a
penalty of five dollars for each wild turkey, woodcock or robin
so killed or destroyed, but it shall be lawful to shoot woodcock
during the month of July of each and every year.

CHAP. 276.

Section 14. No person shall kill or destroy any rabbit or
squirrel on and after the first day of January until the fifteenth
day of October of each and every year, under a penalty of
five dollars for each rabbit or squirrel so killed or destroyed.
Section 15. No person shall have in his possession, buy, or

sell, or offer for sale, in said county, any pheasant, partridge,
wild turkey, woodcock, robin, rabbit, or squirrel within the
times in which the killing or destroying of the same is so pro-
hibited, nor shall any person at any time wilfully molest or
destroy the eggs, nests, or burrows of any of the birds or
animals mentioned in the preceding sections, or at any time
trap, net, or ensnare in any manner any pheasant, partridge,
wild turkey, woodcock, robin, rabbit or squirrel or have the
same in possession if trapped, netted or ensnared, under a
penalty of tive dollars for each egg or nest molested or
destroyed, or each pheasant, partridge, wild turkey, wood-
cock, robin, rabbit or squirrel trapped, netted or ensnared.
Possession to be prima facie evidence. This section not to
apply to the keeping of such birds or animals as are mentioned
therein as may be kept for breeding or ornamental purposes.

Section 16. Any person violating any of the preceding sec-
tions and being convicted thereof before any justice of the
peace of said county, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor,
and shall forfeit the fines above named, which shall be die-
posed of as follows : One-half to the informer and one-
half to the school fund of said county ; and in default the
party so convicted shall be committed to the jail of the county
for every such offense for the space of ten days, or until the
fine and costs are paid.

Section 17. It shall be the duty of all the law officers of
said county or the policeman of the wards of the several cities
of said county, to arrest all persons whom they may see or sus-
pect violating any of the sections of this Act, and take them
before the nearest justice of the peace to be dealt with
according to the provisions of this Act.
Section 18. Any person who shall shoot, kill or destroy

within the limits of Allegany county any hawk, owl, weasel,
mink, fox, wildcat or polecat shall be entitled to receive from
the County Commissioners the following sums of money, viz.:
For every hawk or owl so killed, shot or destroyed the sum of
fifty cents; and for every weasel, mink or polecat, the sum of
fifty cents, and for every fox or wildcat the sum of one dollar.
