CHAP. 225.

CHAPTER 225.
AN ACT to repeal Section 18 of Article 77 of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Public Education,"
sub-title "Duties of the County School Commissioners," as
the same was enacted by Chapter 341 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland of 1892, so far as the same
relates to Charles County, and to add a new Section to
Article 9 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Charles County," sub-title "Schools," to follow
Section 168, and to be designated as Section 168 A.
SECTION 1.Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section 18 of article 77 of the Code of

Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Public Education,"
sub-title "Duties of the School Commissioners," as the same
was enacted by chapter 341 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland of 1892, be and the same is hereby
repealed so far as the same relates to Charles County, and that
a new section be added to article 9 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Charles county," sub-title
"Schools," to follow section 168, and to be designated section
168 A.

treasurer and
examiner
elected.

Section 168 A. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Board of County School Commissioners
of Charles county shall meet for organization on the first
Monday in August next succeeding their appointment, or as
soon thereafter as may be, and elect a person, not a member of
the board, who shall be a resident and citizen of Charles
county, of good moral character and standing, holding a
teacher's certificate for at least three years prior to such elec-
tion, and who shall serve as secretary, treasurer and examiner.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
Approved April 8, 1902.

CHAPTER 227.
AN ACT to repeal Section 159 of Article 9 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Charles County," sub-title "Roads
and Bridges," and enact a new Section in lieu thereof.

Repeal.

New section
added.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That section 159 of Article 9 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Charles County," sub-title " Roads
and Bridges," be and the same is hereby repealed and a new
section be and the same is hereby substituted therefor, to read
as follows :
