CHAP. 168.
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Ann C. Schindler, of Frederick county,
was erroneously assessed for the years 1881 to 1894, both
inclusive, upon personal property in Frederick county amount-
ing to three thousand dollars, and did pay into the State
Treasury taxes levied by the State upon said basis for the
years above mentioned.
WHEREAS, the County Commissioners of Frederick county,
after a full investigation of the circumstances of the case, have
ordered the county taxes levied on said sum of three thousand
dollars and erroneously paid by the said Ann C. Schindler for
the years aforesaid returned to her ; now, therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Warrant to
be drawn.
|
Maryland, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and he
is hereby authorized and directed to draw his warrant upon the
State Treasury in favor of Ann C. Schindler for the sum of
seventy-six dollars and sixty-five cents ($76.65), being the
amount of State taxes erroneously paid by her into the State
Treasury for the years 1881 to 1894, both inclusive.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 169.
AN ACT to repeal Section 217 of Article 16 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Montgomery County," sub-title
"Sheriff," as amended by the Act of the General Assembly
of Maryland, passed at the January Session, A. D. 1900,
Chapter 37, and to re-enact the same with amendments.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Repeal

Maryland, That section 217 of Article 16 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title "Montgomery County," sub-title
"Sheriff," as amended by the Acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland, passed at the January Session, 1900, chapter 37,
be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, so as to
read as follows :
217. He shall be allowed thirty-five cents a day, and no

more, for keeping and boarding each prisoner committed to
the jail of said county.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
