CHAPTER 170.
AN ACT to repeal Chapter, 208 Acts of 1896, amending
Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County, entitled
"An Act to authorize the County Commissioners of Balti-
more County to borrow a sum of money not to exceed one
hundred and fifty thousand dollars for the purpose of
paying off the indebtedness of said County, and to levy and
collect the necessary taxes for the payment of. the sum
borrowed and the interest thereon."
SECTION 1...Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That chapter 208 Acts of 1896, amending Code
of Public Local Laws of Baltimore county, entitled "An Act

to authorize the County Commissioners of Baltimore county

fifty thousand dollars, for the purpose of paying off the
indebtedness of said county, and to levy and collect the
necessary taxes for the payment of the sum borrowed and the
interest thereon," is hereby repealed.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 171.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
365 of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Washington County," sub-title "Smithsburg," the same
being Section 365 of Chapter 504 of the Acts of 1900.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

Maryland, That section 365 of Article 22 of the Code of
Public Local Laws, title " Washington County," sub-title
"Smithsbnrg," the same being section 365 of chapter 504 of
the Acts of 1900, be and the same is hereby repealed and
re-enacced, so as to read as follows :
Section 365. The male citizens of Smithsbnrg of the age

Repeal
and re-enact.

of twenty-one, years and upward, who have resided in the
State of Maryland and in the town of Smithsburg for twelve
months next preceding the election shall, on the third Monday
in March, A. D. 1902, elect by ballot a person, not under
twenty-three years of age, a citizen of the United States, and
two years a resident of said town next preceding the election,
to be Burgess of said town, and also an assistant Burgess and
three Commissioners, who shall remain in office for the term
