Assembly next thereafter, with all the powers heretofore
granted by Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland passed
March fourth, eighteen hundred and forty-four, and March
tenth, eighteen hundred and forty-six, except as hereafter
amended.

CHAP. 143.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That William G. Miller, James
Young, William T. Coleman, William H. Weaver, David
Gibson and Jacob B. Weaver and their successors to be elected
are declared to be a community, corporation and body politic
by the name, style and title of The Powhatan Tribe No. 5 of
the Improved Order of Red Men, of the State of Maryland,
and by that name they and their successors shall and may at
all times hereafter be capable in law to have, receive and
retain to them and their successors the propercy, real and per-
sonal, of said Powhatan Tribe No. 5, as required under the
prior Acts of Assembly, and the same at their pleasure to
convey, transfer or dispose of in such manner as they may
think proper.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That The Powhatan Tribe No.
5 of the Improved Order of Red Men, of the State of Mary-

corporate.

land, aforesaid, for the period aforesaid, shall have all the rights,
powers and privileges granted, and be subject to all the
duties, restrictions, limitations and considerations imposed
by the Acts of the General Assemblies of Maryland, respec-
tively, passed at the session begun and held at Annapolis on
the 25th day of December, 1843, and ended the 10th day of
March, 1844, chapter 251, and the session begun and held at
Annapolis on the 29th day of December, 1845, and ended the
10th day of March, 1846, except as jepealed or amended by
this Act, as final and absolute as if the same were herein
re-enacted.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the General Assembly
reserves the right to repeal, alter and amend this Act at its
pleasure.
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

records in the office of the Register of Wills of Talbot
County, Maryland.
