be and they are hereby authorized and directed to levy a sum
or sums of money for building two school houses for colored
children in said county, one of which shall be built in the first
election district of said county, at or near St. Ingoes, and the
other of which shall be built in the ninth election district of
said county, at such place as. the Board of School Commis-
sioners for said county shall select, with a due regard to the
location of other colored schools in and adjacent to said
district.

selected.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That after the levy, as provided
for in the foregoing section, shall have been made, it shall be
the duty of the Board of School Commissioners for said county
to select and secure the sites for said schools. Whereupon
they shall advertise for sealed proposals for the building of
said schools according to plans and specifications furnished,
and upon the day named in said advertisement they shall pub-
licly open said bids and shall award the contract to the lowest
responsible bidder, who shall be required to give a good and
sufficient bond for the faithful performance of such contract
or contracts.

Effective.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 87.

AN ACT to empower the Commissioners of the town of
Church Hill in Queen Anne's County, a body corporate
under the statute laws of the State of Maryland, to issue
bonds to the amount of twelve hundred dollars, in order to
enable them to provide means for a tire department and
water supply for the said town of Church Hill in said
county.

May issue
bonds.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Town Commissioners of Church Hill in Queen
Anne's county, a corporate body under the statute laws of this
State, are hereby authorized and empowered, in their discre-
tion, in addition to the powers now granted under the original
charter, to issue bonds upon the faitn of the assessable prop-
erty of the said town of Church Hill, bearing: six per cent.
