The ancient records of Charles county herein mentioned have
become the property of the State of Maryland, and,

WHEREAS, the said records are of great historical value, and
should be preserved in good condition and at all times available
for reference,

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
said records of Charles county be, and the same are hereby
received and accepted by the State of Maryland and the Com-
missioner of the Land Office is hereby directed to take charge
of the same, as part of the records of his office, and to have
them repaired and rebound under the provisions of section four-
teen of article fifty-four of the Code of Public General Laws,
as amended by chapter one hundred and ninety-one of the acts
passed at the January session, eighteen hundred and ninety-
four, of the General Assembly of this State.

Joint Resolution requesting and urging the Senators and
Representatives in the Congress of the United States from
the State of Maryland, to urge upon the appropriation com-
mittee of the Senate and House of Congress the importance
of securing an adequate appropriation for the re-survey of
the Chesapeake bay and its tributaries, in the interest of
commerce and the National defense; the said survey to in-
clude the topographical approaches to the shores, and also
the location of the natural oyster beds; provided, these beds
can be located without extra expense.

Be it, therefore, resolved by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Senators and Representatives in the Congress
of the United States from the State of Maryland, be and they
are hereby respectfully requested to urge an adequate appro-
priation by the United States for the re-survey of the Chesa-
peake bay and its tributaries, in the interest of commerce and
