JOINT RESOLUTIONS.

Preamble.

Appeals from said city, on the sixth day of November, eigh-
teen hundred and eighty-three, for the term of fifteen years
and until his successor should be elected and qualified, or until
he should attain the age of seventy years, and,

Preamble.


WHEREAS, he is now discharging the duties of the said office
and will on the twentieth day of November, eighteen hundred
and ninety-seven, if he should so long live, attain the age of
seventy years, therefore,

Term exten-
ded.

Be it resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
said Honorable William Shepard Bryan, be and he is hereby
continued in office until the expiration of the term of fifteen
years for which he was elected and until his successor shall be
elected and qualified.

Joint Resolution extending the term of Honorable Joseph A.
Wickes.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, The Honorable Joseph A. Wickes, of Kent
county, was duly elected Associate Judge of the Second Judi-
cial Circuit of the State of Maryland, on the Tuesday after the
first Monday in November, eighteen hundred and eighty-two,
for the term of fifteen years from the time of his election, and
until his successor is elected and qualified or until he shall
have attained the age of seventy years; and

Preamble.

WHEREAS, The said Honorable Joseph A. Wickes has, since
the period of his election aforesaid, discharged his duties as
associate judge of the Second Judicial Circuit, and acted and
is now acting as such associate judge and will, in the month of
October, eighteen hundred and ninety six, if his life is pro-
longed, attain to the age of seventy years, when his term of
service will expire, unless it is extended by the General
Assembly of this State, by resolution, pursuant to the third
section of the fourth article of the Constitution,

Preamble.

Therefore, the General Assembly reposing full confidence in
the ability, integrity, wisdom and sound legal knowledge of the
said Honorable Joseph A. Wickes, and deeming it compatible
with the public interest to extend his term of service,

extended.

Be it resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the term of service of Honorable Joseph A. Wickes, associate
judge of the Second Judicial Circuit, until the Tuesday after
