violating, or have been used in the violation of this act, shall
be condemned by the justice of the peace having jurisdiction,
and shall be sold by the sheriff or constables to the highest
bidder for cash, after twenty days' notice of time and place
and terms of sale, inserted at least three times in some news-
paper in Somerset county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect
'from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 477.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to pay the claim of
James F. Melvin for publishing constitutional amendments,
submitted in the year 1891.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the State be authorized to draw
his warrant on the Treasurer of the State for the sum of two
hundred and fifty dollars ($250) in favor of James F. Melvin,
for publishing in the " Ellicott City Democrat " the constitu-
tional amendment submitted to the people at the general elec-
tion of 1891.

CHAPTER 478.
AN ACT to declare the sanction and consent of the General
Assembly of Maryland to sundry gifts, bequests and devises
contained in the last wills and testaments of certain persons
late of the State of Maryland, deceased, and also to certain
gifts, grants, sales, leases and deeds made by various persons
in the said State of Maryland to and for the use and benefit
of sundry ministerial persons, religious corporations, denomi-
nations or sects, and to certain charitable institutions here-
inafter named.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
