CHAPTER 403.
AN ACT to prohibit the laying of railway tracks on a por-
tion of the old York road, in the city and county of Balti-
more, without the consent of the General Assembly.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That it shall not be lawful for any person or corporation
to lay any railway tracks upon the old York road from its
intersection with the York Turnpike to Willow avenue, in the
city and county of Baltimore, without the consent of the
General Assembly of Maryland; provided, that this act shall
not restrict in any way, the right of any passenger railway
now incorporated or that may hereafter be incorporated, to
cross said old York road, where such railway company shall be
authorized by the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore to use
any street or avenue opening into the same.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 404.
AN ACT to enlarge the powers of " The Society of Colonial
Wars of Baltimore City," and to enable it to take, hold and
dispose of real or leashold estate.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-

land, That the "Society of Colonial Wars of Baltimore City,"
a corporation incorporated under the provisions of article
23 of the Public General Laws of Maryland, be and it is
hereby authorized to take and hold, by purchase, gift, lease,
devise or in any other manner, any tract or parcels of real or
leasehold estate in the State of Maryland, being the site of
historic events, or which are, in the judgment of the said cor-
poration, of interest by means of their association with the
history of the State, and the same to alien, sell, transfer, mort-
Sge or otherwise dispose of at its pleasure; provided, thai
e said corporation shall not at any time hold or possess such
property exceeding in value the sum of one hundred thousand
dollars.
